Scholarship for Adaptive Swim Lessons:
When we found Angel Fish Swim Whisperers teacher training, Salty Swim School knew it was the right fit. We chose swim training specifically to address adaptive swim lessons for swimmers including those with ADHD, autism, and sensory sensitives. Currently we offer a scholarship opportunity to give back and offer more.
Of course we have a special bond with these swimmers developing a deep connection. Neurodivergent swimmers with ADHD, autism, and sensory processing differences need more time, support, and grace to make progress. They benefit greatly from exercise and a community of friends with similar learning experiences.
Salty Swim School believes everyone who lives here in Kona deserves to develop ocean confidence and learn water safety skills. These scholarships are extremely limited, require parent participation. Please contact us directly for more information.
Adaptive swim lessons for neurodivergent children and adults with inclusive swimming programs are Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.
Please register your swimmer today!
Your $222 donation sponsors a special needs swimmer for one month or 4 Lessons. Special swimmers are our passion at Salty Swim School, and we’d love to coach more of them. We match your donation with time. All special needs get an hour swim lesson to accommodate all the extra things.
MARK’S SWIM STORY COMING SOON….
Alyssa Scholarship Request:
Alyssa is 24 year old with a very rare chromosome disorder called Ring Chromosome 15 which impacts her health in many ways, yet she very active growing up participating in many sports just like her older brother. She was developing swim skills on the Special Olympics Swim Team when she came down with a life-threatening case of pneumonia at age 18.
Since then, Alyssa has had many new health challenges impacting her breath and stamina. Since we moved from California in 2020 to help her live her best life in Hawaii with family, she still tries to participate as much as she can.
At this point, Alyssa has shown an interest in swimming but still experiences fear in the ocean. She met Coach Victoria during an Ironman event a few months ago and Victoria generously offered some swim lessons to get to know her better and to help introduce her to ocean swimming.
Because of that, our daughter has shown that she trusts Victoria and will follow her lead. Victoria’s encouraging coaching style assures Alyssa that she is safe to take the risks that are necessary for improvement. After several lessons with Victoria, we have seen her grow more and more comfortable and confident. In the future we hoping to see her progress continue. Our family is very grateful for this opportunity.
Love~ Jen, Rich, and Alyssa
